TRANSITION YEAR

From Foal to Race

Agri Aware and equuip have teamed up to create an equine programme which offers a learning experience for both students and teachers, with no prior industry knowledge required.

Introduction

Agri Aware and equuip are delighted to present this Transition Year programme which provides a comprehensive overview of the horse racing industry. With a strong focus on increasing awareness of the careers associated with the foal to race story, featured career spotlights include jockeys, digital marketers, and stud nominators.

Throughout this programme, teachers and students will gain an insight into the racing industry ‘From Foal to Race‘, with topics including the role of stud farms, animal welfare and other regulations of the industry.

No prior industry or equine knowledge is required to participate, and the programme aligns with Leaving Certificate subjects including biology, business, agricultural science, and design.
