SCHOOL PROGRAMME
Incredible Edibles
Teaching primary school children to explore balanced eating by growing their own food, discovering seasonal produce, and appreciating the value of high-quality Irish fruits and vegetables.
Introduction
Incredible Edibles is an engaging, experience-driven healthy eating initiative designed for primary schools and delivered by Agri Aware across Ireland.
The programme teaches children how to grow their own fruits and vegetables, while also exploring the journey of food from farm-to-table and emphasising the significance of quality ingredients.
Additionally, it underscores the vital role that fresh produce plays in maintaining a healthy, balanced diet, and encourages children to enjoy at least five servings of fruits and vegetables each day.

Incredible Edibles 2025/2026 - Register Now!
This programme was refreshed with exciting new tasks, content, and prizes last year and we have some more exciting instalments on the way for 2025/2026! There are more ways than ever for Schools to get involved through quizzes and the School of the Month competition.
In 2025, all registered schools received seed packs to grow radishes, carrots, lettuce, turnips, French beans, onions, strawberries, and potatoes in February. Schools that participated in the added activities, or submitted a project in 2024 unlocked an expanded grow pack, including a window propagator, recyclable pots and compost to kickstart their own growing adventure.
At the end of term, students are invited to submit one class project at the end of term to showcase what they’ve learned. The possibilities are endless, and submissions can be in the form of a poem, story, artwork, video, or presentation!

Healthy Eating Week 2025

Healthy Eating Week runs in May as part of the Incredible Edibles programme.
As part of the Healthy Eating Week roadshow, the Agri Aware team visited primary schools across Dublin, Meath, Carlow, and Kildare, delivering hands-on learning experiences that inspired healthy habits and a love for growing food.
The week-long initiative brought a focus on healthy eating and growing to schools through a series of in-person visits. With support from programme partners Dole Ireland, Country Crest, O’Shea Farms/Iverk Produce, and McCormack Family Farms, students enjoyed a week filled with fun activities, food, and learning about where their food came from.
