SCHOOL PROGRAMME

Incredible Edibles

Teaching primary school children all about healthy eating and where fruit and vegetables come from.

Introduction

Incredible Edibles is an experience-based healthy eating project for primary schools. The programme shows children how to grow fruits and vegetables, learn about where food comes from and the importance of quality.

It also highlights the important role that fresh produce plays in a healthy balanced diet and the importance of consuming at least five portions of fruit and vegetables every day.

About

The Incredible Edibles programme has had a refresh, with new tasks, content and prizes. We will also have more opportunities for you to engage with the programme through quizzes and our School of the Month competition. All registered schools will receive seeds packs to grow radishes, carrots, lettuce, turnips, French beans, onions, strawberries and potatoes. Schools that engage in the School of the Month competition, the new task quizzes or submitted a project in 2024 will unlock the larger grow pack that includes seeds, a window propagator, recyclable pots and compost to kickstart growing their own Incredible Edibles in school.

At the end of the term, students will submit one project per class that reflects on their learning. This can take the form of a poem, story, artwork, video, or presentation.
