A UNIQUE EXPERIENCE
Agri Aware Farm-to-Fork Experience at Lidl Farm
At Agri Aware it is our mission to reverse the decline in agricultural literacy among non-farming communities.
A unique experience for primary school students
Lidl has turned 8.5 acres of land at its Newbridge distribution centre in County Kildare into a free educational resource. The initiative is supported by Agri Aware and Meade Farm, one of Lidl’s key suppliers.
Visitors are brought into a specially made facility to learn about how local produce is sourced, how crops grow, and they get to experience a practical demonstration of crop growing.
Visitors get to see the beef cattle up-close and even lend a hand in feeding them. Experiential learning at its best.
We also offer the children tours of the Lidl distribution centre to give them some insight into how the retail supply chain works.
The Farm-to-Fork Experience is a seasonal event. Autumn tours take place in September and October, returning in spring and summer to welcome visitors again from April to the end of the school year in June.
