SCHOOL PROGRAMME
Incredible Edibles
Helping primary school kids learn all about healthy eating while discovering where fruits and vegetables come from.
Introduction
Incredible Edibles is an engaging, experience-driven healthy eating initiative designed for primary schools and delivered by Agri Aware across Ireland.
The programme teaches children how to grow their own fruits and vegetables, while also exploring the journey of food from farm-to-table and emphasising the significance of quality ingredients.
Additionally, it underscores the vital role that fresh produce plays in maintaining a healthy, balanced diet, and encourages children to enjoy at least five servings of fruits and vegetables each day.
Incredible Edibles 2025 - Programme Overview
Refreshed with exciting new tasks, content, and prizes for 2025! There are more ways for Schools to get involved through quizzes and the School of the Month competition.
All registered schools received seed packs to grow radishes, carrots, lettuce, turnips, French beans, onions, strawberries, and potatoes in February.
Schools that participated in the added activities, or submitted a project in 2024 unlocked an expanded grow pack, including a window propagator, recyclable pots and compost to kickstart their own growing adventure.
Students are invited to submit one class project at the end of term to showcase what they’ve learned. The possibilities are endless, and submissions can be in the form of a poem, story, artwork, video, or presentation!
Note that registrations for this season have concluded. Stay tuned for 2026!
School of the Month
Each month, one participating school will be chosen as the Incredible Edibles School of the Month. Four winning schools will each win a tour to one of our patrons crop growing farms.
To be in with the chance to win, tag us on social media @agriaware in a photo or video of your class participating in the programme. Please note that Agri Aware will not be in a position to arrange or pay for transport for the winning schools.
