ICBF the latest to come on board as a patron of Agri Aware

Agri Aware is delighted to announce that the Irish Cattle Breeding Federation (ICBF) has committed to coming on board as a patron.

Established as one of Ireland’s leading organisations in cattle breeding, genetics, and herd improvement, ICBF has built a strong reputation for delivering data-driven breeding solutions and genetic services to farmers nationwide. With a focus on improving herd performance, sustainability, and animal welfare, ICBF works closely with farmers to provide genetic evaluations, herd recording services, and innovative breeding technologies.

Over the years, the organisation has played a significant role in supporting the productivity and profitability of Irish farms through genetic research, data analysis, and farmer-focused services. Its commitment to breeding healthier, more efficient, and higher-performing livestock has positioned ICBF as a trusted leader within the agri-food sector.

ICBF joins over 65 patrons of Agri Aware, strengthening the agri-food educational body’s mission to enhance agricultural literacy among the general public. The organisation brings valuable expertise through its work in livestock breeding, genetics, and herd improvement, helping to inform consumers about the importance of sustainable breeding practices and innovation in modern farming systems.

Speaking about ICBF coming on board as a patron, Agri Aware Chairman Shay Galvin said: “We are delighted to welcome ICBF as a patron of Agri Aware. Its expertise in cattle breeding, genetics, and herd improvement brings significant value to our organisation. ICBF plays an important role in helping farmers improve animal performance and welfare while supporting sustainable food production, and this insight will be invaluable in supporting the work we do at Agri Aware.”

Commenting on committing to becoming a patron of Agri Aware was Sean Coughlan, CEO at ICBF, who said: “Becoming a patron of Agri Aware is a natural fit for ICBF, as both organisations share a commitment to fostering greater understanding of sustainable farming and food production. Through our work in cattle breeding and genetics, we see every day the role science and data play in supporting our farmers. We’re proud to support Agri Aware in its efforts to engage the public with the realities of Irish agriculture.”
