Agri Aware launches new public donation campaign as it marks 30 years of agricultural education

Agri Aware is launching a new public donation campaign, inviting people across Ireland to play their part in supporting agricultural education and helping to strengthen the connection between consumers, farming and food production.

The campaign comes as Agri Aware celebrates 30 years of enhancing agricultural literacy and bridging the knowledge gap between the farming and non-farming communities across Ireland.

The first phase of the campaign was launched by Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine Martin Heydon at this year’s National Ploughing Championships, where the public was invited to support Agri Aware by purchasing the Agri Aware and TikTok ‘I Support Irish Farming’ jersey. Proceeds from sales directly support Agri Aware’s educational programmes and public awareness initiatives nationwide.

For 30 years, Agri Aware has worked with the support of Irish farmers and the wider agri-food sector to help people understand where their food comes from and the role agriculture plays in everyday life. As urbanisation grows and fewer people have a direct connection to farming, this work is more important than ever. Building on the generous support of its industry patrons, Agri Aware’s new public donation campaign gives individuals the opportunity to directly support its work and help agricultural education reach more people across Ireland.

Speaking about the launch, Agri Aware Chair Shay Galvin said: “For 30 years, Agri Aware has worked to bridge the gap between farming and the wider public, helping people understand where their food comes from and the important role agriculture plays in Irish life. We are hugely grateful to our patrons, whose continued support makes our work possible. Now, for the first time, we are asking the public to be part of that journey too. By purchasing a jersey or making a donation, people can support Irish farming while helping us bring agricultural education to more people across Ireland. Our ambition is to reach every home in Ireland and strengthen the connection between consumers, farmers and food for generations to come.”
