Incredible Edibles School of the Week | St Patrick’s NS, Stamullen, Co. Meath

Congratulations to our Incredible Edibles School of the week, Ms. Giffin’s Fifth Class in St Patrick’s NS, Stamullen, Co. Meath.

Identifying Plant Parts

Ms. Griffin’s class have been working hard on identifying plant parts from the foods they eat, in the context of science lessons about plant parts and their functions.

They also studied soil before starting their first Incredible Edibles tasks and are linking this with what is in their lunchboxes!

Food Origins

Fifth Class have been enjoying the Food Origin videos on their interactive whiteboard, while eating lunch! They have found the production and processes involved in wheat and dairy products particularly interesting! The class loved seeing animals being milked in the Incredible Edibles Dairy video – it brought to life Ms Griffin’s descriptions, which she could give first hand, having grown up on a dairy farm.

They also worked in groups to identify food origins, name the plant parts involved in some food products and to decide whether or not products were processed.

Well done to all in Ms. Griffin’s Fifth Class! Obair iontach!
