Agri Aware is pleased to announce that the Organic Trust has committed to coming on board as a patron.
The Organic Trust is Ireland’s trusted organic certification body dedicated to protecting and upholding the principles of organic food and farming. Since 1991, the Organic Trust have worked alongside farmers, growers and food producers to ensure the highest standards of organic integrity. The organisation certifies a wide range of organic sectors including the livestock, tillage, horticulture, aquaculture and food processing, supporting members at every stage of their organic journey – from initial application to certification and beyond.
The Organic Trust joins over 70 patrons of Agri Aware, strengthening the agri-food educational body’s mission to enhance agricultural literacy among the general public. The Organic Trust brings valuable expertise through its work with farmers, producers and the wider agri-food industry, helping to inform consumers about the economic, social, and environmental importance of agriculture and food production in Ireland.
Commenting on becoming a patron of Agri Aware, Irene Bermingham, Member Relations and Communications Manager at the Organic Trust said: “As a member led organisation, everything we do is driven by the needs and priorities of our members. We carried out member research last year, with one message coming through loud and clear – our members wanted more opportunities to talk about organics, to help consumers better understand organic production and to inspire the next generation to grow, rear and chose organic food. Alongside supporting our members on their own educational journey, we are committed to helping consumers build a greater understanding of organic food and farming. Our patronage with Agri Aware is a natural fit, giving us the opportunity to bring those conversations into schools and communities, while showcasing the passion, care and high standards which define organic production.”
