Incredible Edibles School of the Week | Scoil Fhionáin, Co. Limerick

Congratulations to our Incredible Edibles School of the week, Mr. Walsh’s Second & Third Class, Scoil Fhionáin, Kilfinnane, Co. Limerick!

In Task Two of Incredible Edibles, Mr Walsh’s class has learned all about the origins of many types of foods. They decided to trace foods back to their country of origin using Google Maps and Atlas’.

Mr. Walsh and his class also went shopping online on a supermarket’s website to identify Irish food and produce using various signs such as the Bord Bia mark and the National Dairy Council mark! They then went on and purchased Irish fruit and vegetables from the website and got them delivered to the school to make some delicious food!

Second and Third class decided to make some vegetable soup with potatoes, leeks, carrots, onions, mushrooms, parsnips, and turnip. The pupils also prepared and made fruit cocktails with Irish fruit such as strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, apples, and blueberries!

We all took turns preparing, washing and cutting the fruits and vegetables. They really enjoyed seeing the ingredients become amazing foods!

Well done to all in Mr. Walsh’s Second and Third Class! Obair iontach!
