Agri Aware's Incredible Edibles
Incredible Edibles is a healthy eating initiative for primary school pupils. It encourages schools across the country to get busy growing carrots, lettuce, potatoes, strawberries and turnips. Schools are supplied with grow packs containing everything they needed to grow a veritable feast of healthy foods!
The Department of Education and Skills and the Department of Health and Children, through the Healthy Ireland framework, have joined Agri Aware’s Incredible Edibles patrons along with the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Bord Bia and the horticulture industry to support this important healthy eating educational programme for primary level students.
On the Incredible Edibles website you can download curriculum linked activity sheets, a log book, a growing planner and you will also find growing videos to help you get set up. Everything that's needed to learn about where food comes from and the importance of fruit, vegetables and potatoes. Registration is now closed for the Incredible Edibles 2016 project.
