Agri Aware teamed up with University College Dublin School of Agriculture and Food Science at this years National Ploughing Championships, September 19th, 20th and 21st in Screggan, Co. Offaly. The weather didn't deter crowds with a record breaking 291,500 people in attendence over the three days!

Day 1, we had “From pitch to plate” panel with MC Marty Morrissey and GAA stars Sean Mullooly, John Heslin, Shane Fives and Niamh Bambrick. They chatted about their experiences in agriculture and how they balance GAA and farming. Sharon Hearne-Smith kept us fed with her cookery demonstrations.

Day 2, we had our “Looking to the leaders” Agri business panel with Damien O’Reilly MCing and ASA President Derrie Dillon, Dairymaster CEO, Dr. Edmond Harty, Linda O'Mahony, Irish Farmers Journal and Maxine Hyde, Ballymaloe Foods. Edward Hayden was in cooking up a storm and keeping us warm with his soup, followed by Dr. Amalia Scannell of UCD School of Agriculture and Food Science talked Sensory Analysis.

Sharon Hearne-Smith was back with us again for the final day of Ploughing making her delicious no bake beetroot soup again. Dr. Amalia Scannell closed the show with her final sensory analysis workshop of the Ploughing.
